ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS
I enjoy motivating both high achievers and less driven students to fulfill their potential as writers. Whatever their level of writing proficiency, the following services are available via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime:
Option A: JUMP START YOUR COMMON APP ESSAY
Together, for 60 minutes, we'll:
-
clarify the role of the essay in the application process and the expectations of college admissions officials
-
generate initial content ideas
-
discuss how to structure the essay
-
determine a timeline for completing the essay with minimal stress
Ideal introduction to the college application process for HS juniors, as well as for seniors who don't know where to begin.
Virtual one-on-one conversation = $125
Option B: FLEXIBLE GUIDANCE FOR COMMON APP AND OTHER APPLICATION ESSAYS
It depends how far along in the process the student is when I'm contacted, so call, text, WhatsApp or email me to discuss procedure and fee.
Send me an invitation to share your Google doc. We'll connect via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or audio call and work on your school assignment as a team while viewing the document at the same time. The goal is to achieve an error-free, polished draft representing the best work I can squeeze out of you.

Virtual conversation = $25 for each 15-minute block of time
Option A: Based on past and present ACT and SAT essay formats—the long-time tools used by colleges to assess their applicants' skills in identifying and/or implementing persuasive writing strategies—I offer a 50-minute, one-on-one session covering the desired competencies. The lesson is geared toward each student's specific knowledge and skill level.
Virtual one-on-one lesson = $75
Option B: Following the 50-minute session described above, the student writes a practice essay. After receiving a scanned version of the essay by text, WhatsApp or email, I return it by the same method in a week or less with detailed written feedback.
Virtual one-on-one lesson + written feedback = $120
Option A: In a 50-minute session one on one, I provide an overview of the ACT essay and recommendations on how to write a successful response. The lesson is geared toward each student's specific knowledge and skill level.
Virtual one-on-one lesson = $75
Option B: Following the 50-minute session described above, the student writes a 40-minute practice essay (longer if allowed extended time). After receiving a scanned version of the handwritten essay by text, WhatsApp or email, I return it by the same method in a week or less with detailed written feedback.
