I love helping high-school students become better writers and stronger candidates for admission to college! Whether the challenge involves class writing assignments, college entrance-exam and application essays, or the learning curve of college selection, teachers, parents, and students have valued my assistance.
BACKGROUND: I'm most proud, together with my wife, a college professor, to have raised an accomplished pair of Florida Gators in our village near the Hudson River. A Northwestern University art-history grad minoring in English literature, I worked for more than two decades overseas and in the U.S. as a writer, editor, and operations manager in the fields of international business and web development. From 2004 until 2021, when its long-time owner retired, I was the writing instructor at highly regarded Young's Test Prep on Long Island. Since then, in addition to tutoring privately, I've enjoyed writing fiction for both children and adults.

With a focus on building confidence at any skill level, I offer practical advice for improving writing proficiency, crafting authentic and appealing content, raising essay scores, and increasing the chances of admission to 'reach' colleges.
